The Story Behind the Story
DENIAL is a deeply personal film, inspired by chapters from my own life. As someone who is also a trained counselor and deeply involved in understanding human behavior, emotions, and the complexities of the mind, I felt compelled to tell this story.
I’ve seen firsthand how people struggle with inner conflict, suppression, and the inability to face certain truths, sometimes for years. That internal tug-of-war, that very human tendency to escape reality rather than confront it, is what DENIAL explores. I believe many viewers will resonate with the emotions this film brings forth because, in some way or the other, we’ve all been there.
While I didn’t direct this film myself, I was very much involved creatively. I wrote the story and produced the film. It’s currently streaming on the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival’s YouTube channel, and we’re in the process of releasing it on another platform soon.
It was supported by a Dear Friend and wonderful Soul Prateek Chakravorty with his prestigious Banner Pramod Films, coming in as a Presenter for Denial.
